When you use Calo, we collect the following personal information that you voluntarily provide:
- Profile Information: Name, Age/Birth Year, Gender (Male, Female, Other), Profile photo (optional, stored locally on your device).
- Health & Fitness Data: Current weight, Target weight, Height, Weight goal (lose, maintain, or gain weight), Activity level, Medical conditions (if disclosed), Pregnancy status (if disclosed).
- Dietary Information: Food entries and photos, Meal times and eating schedule, Nutritional intake (calories, protein, carbs, fat, fiber), Preferred meal to skip, Water intake tracking preferences.
- Behavioral Data: Weight trends, Previous diet/exercise attempts, Struggles with eating habits, Achievement goals.
Automatically Collected Information
- Usage Data: App launch count, Features used within the app, Date and time of app usage.
- Device Information: Device type and model, Operating system version, App version.
Photos and Camera Access
- Food Photos: When you scan food, we process the photo using Google's Gemini AI to detect ingredients and calculate nutrition. Photos are sent to Firebase Cloud Functions for AI processing, stored locally on your device, never shared with third parties except for AI processing, and can be deleted at any time by deleting the food entry.
- Camera Permission: We request camera access only to take photos of food for calorie tracking and scan food items for nutritional analysis.
