Nico Melian ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Healthy Food Checker mobile application ("the App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App. Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly: We do not require you to create an account or provide personal information such as your name, email address, or phone number to use the App.
Information collected automatically: When you use the App, we may automatically collect certain information, including but not limited to your device type, operating system version, unique device identifiers, IP address, language settings, and general usage data such as the features you access and the frequency of use.
Camera and photo access: The App requires access to your device camera to scan product barcodes and capture product photos for ingredient analysis. Camera images are processed in real time and are not stored on our servers unless you explicitly submit a photo for analysis, in which case the image is sent to our servers solely for the purpose of identifying the product and its ingredients. We do not retain these images after processing is complete.
Purchase information: If you subscribe to Healthy Food Checker Pro, your payment is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect, store, or have access to your payment details such as credit card numbers or billing addresses. We receive a confirmation of your subscription status through RevenueCat, our subscription management provider, which may collect anonymous transaction identifiers to manage your subscription.
Product scan history: Your scan history is stored locally on your device using on-device storage. This data is not transmitted to our servers and remains entirely under your control. You can delete your scan history at any time from the Settings section of the App.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
To provide and maintain the App, including barcode scanning, product search, and ingredient analysis features.
To process product images and ingredient data through our analysis service in order to return health scores and ingredient breakdowns.
To manage your subscription status and restore purchases.
To improve and optimize the App, including monitoring usage patterns and diagnosing technical issues.
To communicate with you regarding updates, changes to our policies, or responses to your inquiries if you contact us.

The App uses the following third-party services that may collect information:
