OVERVIEW
Altitude Measure is an altimeter app for iPhone. It reads your device sensors to work out how high above sea level you are, and lets you save those readings.
This policy explains exactly what the app does with your information. It is written to describe how the app actually behaves, not to cover every theoretical case.

SHORT VERSION
Your measurements, your location history and your settings are stored only on your iPhone. We do not run servers, we do not have accounts, and we never receive your location or your saved measurements.
Three things do involve a network connection: Apple's geocoding service turns coordinates into a place name, Apple Maps loads map tiles, and RevenueCat handles your subscription. Those are described in detail below.
Location
The app requests "While Using the App" location access. It uses your GPS position for two purposes: to establish your altitude above sea level, and to record where a saved measurement was taken.
Location is read only while the app is open and on screen. The app stops reading location when it goes to the background, and it also stops when you switch to a tab that does not display a live reading.
Your location is processed on your device. It is stored on your device inside the measurements you choose to save. It is not uploaded to us and we have no ability to see it.
If you deny or later revoke location permission, the altimeter cannot work. You can change this at any time in iOS Settings, under Privacy and Security, then Location Services.
Motion and barometric pressure
On iPhones that have a barometer, the app requests motion access to read air pressure. Pressure is used to calculate altitude changes precisely and to display air pressure, oxygen level and the boiling point of water.
This data is processed on your device in real time and is not uploaded. Pressure at the moment of saving is stored inside your saved measurements.
Measurements you save
When you tap Save Measurement, the app writes a record to your device containing: altitude, GPS altitude, accuracy figures, coordinates, place name, air pressure, the sea level reference in use, the date, an optional name you type, and the last few minutes of the elevation trace.
These records live in the app's private storage area on your iPhone. They are included in your iPhone backups if you back up your device, and they are deleted when you delete the app.
